About

Welcome to

Cadence Farmhouse

Come follow along as we teach your family how to homestead with the traditional skills, lost wisdom and the natural rhythms of our farmhouse. We talk about everything from growing your own food and herbs, to cooking and preserving, and caring for a family milk cow,

About Our Family

Hi, we’re David and Amanda Vital! We live on a 15 acre homestead in the Ozarks of Arkansas with our 10 children. We grow, cook and preserve most of our food from our homestead with nothing but sunshine and this beautiful Arkansas soil!

As you can imagine with a large family like ours, we eat a LOT! With the prices of food nowadays it isn’t reasonable to purchase good quality food from the store. So we learned how to do it ourselves.

Neither one of us grew up on a farm, so we had a lot of catching up to do. We didn’t have many people to go to for instruction on how to homestead with a family. Thus there was a stretch of our journey we had to walk by ourselves trying to figure it all out. As a result we had to dig for all the long lost homesteading ways, traditional skills and old time experience.

Today the majority of our food and medicine comes from the labor of our God given hands, sunshine and this beautiful Arkansas dirt! With lots of trial and error over the years, we finally figured out what did and didn’t work. Finally we have established a smoothly running homestead to feed all 12 of us. We absolutely love this life our family gets to experience daily! Working together and being more connected to this beautiful earth the Good Lord made!

We have a passion for helping others and we absolutely love community. Have you ever wanted to be a part of a Christian Homesteading Community? We we do! We dream about building this blog into an online Christian Homesteading Community, so no one has to walk this journey alone.

This is where your journey starts! So come along with us!

The Cadence Farmhouse Membership will help you learn how to be more self-sufficient and change your home into a well oiled homesteading machine with our experience, guidance, content and educational material.

We can’t wait for you to join our community. This will be exciting watching the transformations of your homestead as you follow along!
